A140 Long Stratton: Hempnall Crossroads Junction Improvement
Traffic Management Information
Preliminary work to replace the existing Hempnall crossroads junction with a roundabout is underway. The roundabout will be built to the west of the existing crossroads to minimise disruption. The scheme will significantly improve road safety and improve access from side roads onto the A140 and ultimately help to unlock economic growth and development in the area.
The next phase of the scheme requires the closure of the C497 Bungay Road at its junction with the A140. This road closure will be in place from 17 May – 9 September for 24 hours a day. A signed diversion route via A140 and B1113 will be in place (please see attached for details). The County Council thanks people for their patience while this improvement work is carried out.
A mandatory 30mph speed limit on the A140 (24 hours a day) will be in place from 20 May – 1November. Further details of other necessary traffic management will be publicised as the scheme progresses.
