The government has announced that councils and police forces across England and Wales and the British Transport Police, are to receive a share of £23.5million funding intended to make public spaces safer, as part of the government’s Safer Streets Fund. The funding will go towards local projects that increase the safety of public spaces for all with a particular focus on tackling violence against women and girls.
