The Proclamation of the Accession

Following the sad death of Her Majesty the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II, the reading of The Proclamation of the Accession will take place on Sunday 11 September 2022 at 1.30pm at Broadland District Council’s offices and South Norfolk District Council’s offices which are located at:

As a public event, The Proclamation of the Accession enables us to come together following the passing of our late Sovereign, Her Majesty the Queen, Queen Elizabeth II. The basis on which the monarchy is built ensures that the Crown has passed in an unbroken line of succession.

The Accession Council proclaims our new Sovereign and our important role as a District is to ensure that we also read out The Proclamation of Accession to mark the start of His Majesty’s reign.
